ADPP - Mozambique is a Mozambican Organisation governed by the "Law of the Associations." ADPP has been developing its programs for twenty six years in
Mozambique - focusing on the improvement of life for the population.Giving fulfilment to the expressed objectives in its Statutes, ADPP - Mozambique
has been carrying out the following steps:
Assistance to the populations and the communities in need, through the implementation of education/training, social and economic activities. The promotion of Solidary humanism amongst people through the creation of
work places, study and responsibility areas giving the opportunity to many people to participate in the development of their own country.

The Child Aid Project is creating a supportive environment for the development of the child through development of the whole community that the child is also a part
of. The families are organized in order to support each other at the same time as empowering them to improve their own lives. The Child Aid Project is dealing with all aspects of rural life and of development through 10 lines of activities.
In Child Aid Nhamatanda there are 4.900 families active in the program. The Child Aid Nhamatanda project also runs an orphan program with 15.000 orphans of which 1.800 also benefit from a Girls Scholarship program.
Child Aid Nacala has 3.000 families in the program and is running a microcredit Scheme. In 2008 Child Aid Gaza and Child Aid Inhambane started and in 2009 Child Aid Tete will start in the area around the ADPP Teacher Training College in Tete.

* ADPP POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE
ADPP College is offering vocational training to young people. The ADPP College is a boarding school with 200 students. During the two-years program the students
will pass from 8th to 10th Grade and will be specialized in the areas of: Community Leader, Construction, Commerce and Administration and Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. The school started in 1984.
The College also runs ADPP Secondary School No Caminho da Vitoria, with 1.000 students.

* THE VOCATIONAL SCHOOL NHAMATANDA, NACALA AND BILIBIZA
The Vocational Schools teach youth in the provinces of Nampula, Sofala and Cabo Delgado vocational skills to become professionals to obtain a job or a position from which they can make a living and maintain their family.
Employers in the business Field are looking for skilled people, who are qualified in the production and its development. In this context we find the Vocational Schools where young people are educated in professional skills.
The skills are: Construction, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Hotel and Tourism, Administration and Community Instructor. The schools in Nacala and Nhamatanda have 120 students each and the Agricultural School in Bilibiza has 500 students.

* ADPP TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES IN MAPUTO, NHAMATANDA,
NACALA, CHIMOIO, NIASSA, CABO DELGADO, MACUSE, GAZA, INHAMBANE, TETE AND NAMETIL
The Movement was started in 1993 as a gift from Humana People to People to the Mozambican Government, because of the peace agreement in 1992. The objective of the EPF (Escola de Professores do Futuro) is to educate primary school teachers for the rural areas as a key factor in the development of  Mozambique and the bringing up of a new generation with better possibilities.
Each EPF is a center with 8 different lines of activities. Hundreds of different communities are benefiting from the community work that the teachers of the future are implementing. In 2008 EPF Nametil started to be constructed and will start in January 2009 with 60 students. The Teacher Training Colleges will start a new 1 year course from January 2009 and will have 1.700 new students in the 11 colleges.

* ONE WORLD UNIVERSITY
One World University / ISET (Higher Institute for Education and Technology) was created as an answer to the need for trained instructors and headmasters for the teacher training colleges. It is a unique education in Mozambique and was approved as an Institute of Higher Education by the Council of Ministers in 2005.
The participants prepare themselves for a degree as Bachelor of Education, which qualifies them to become instructors at the teacher training colleges. Many of them
have completed a full course at one of the ADPP Teacher Training Colleges in Mozambique or in Angola. The present course has been designed with the demands to a teacher'council at a teacher training college in mind, as well as the demands to the individual instructor. So far OWU has graduated 190 bachelors.
In July 2008 a new course called "with the Poor"started with 30 students. This course was a wish from the President of Mozambique and was designed by
HUMANA People to People.
In November 2008 the new buildings in Changalane were inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Mozambique in a big event.

* HOPE HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE BEIRA AND MAPUTO
HOPE HUMANA People to People was started in 1998 and projects are now situated in 2 places: HOPE Beira and HOPE Maputo. HOPE is a center for
HIV/AIDS activities. It is providing a place and a symbol for the popular effort combating the epidemic. The HOPE Center is a meeting place, a center where to
seek advice and where health services are offered at the same time as it is the starting point for a wide range of outreach activities and community programs -
school program, workplace program, action program, clubs of all kinds, home based care and orphan support programs. Other important activities of the HOPE Projects are Operational Research and Opinion Forming activities.
HOPE Beira is working in Zambezia province with a Family Planning programme in 4 districts. Both HOPE Projects have testing and counseling facilities. HOPE Maputo is beside this doing Community Testing in Machava and Beluluane.

* CHILDREN'S TOWN IN MAPUTO, CHILDREN'S SCHOOLS IN NACALA AND CHIMOIO, SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN MAPUTO
The idea of these projects is to give educational possibilities to both existing  and potential street children, who do not go to the normal schools, because of a number of problems, like being too old and social problems in the families. The schools help these children to attend school, to raise the number of educated
children in the area, where we are working and to help the children in difficult situation to find a way to get a better future.
Most of the schools are day schools, but with a full day program and the Children' Town is a boarding school for 100 of its 700 students. The schools also serve as practice schools for the EPF Movement, where possible.

* FARMERS CLUB MOZAMBIQUE
The idea of the program is to organize and mobilize small-scale farmers living in the project areas in the Cabo Delgado, Niassa, Sofala, Manica, Zambezia and
Maputo provinces to join forces, share ideas and resources, in order to further the agriculture production of each and every member to improve their living standard,
through training and practicing sustainable agriculture farming methods. The ultimate goals are to increase food security and stability for improved health and
nutrition. The idea is also to increase crop seasons for farmers to enable them improve their income and develop the linkage to new markets.
The Farmers Club activity in Mozambique started in 2005 and was operated from 6 of the ADPP Teacher Training Colleges for the first 3 years. The program grew in size and were reorganised in mid 2007 in individual projects in each province. 6
projects are combined in Farmers Club Mozambique. The Farmers Club in Sofala also runs 50 Soy restaurants, that were started under in 2005 and sell healthy soya
meals to the population.

* FARMERS CLUB ITOCULO
The Farmers Club Itoculo was created by combining the activities of Farmers Club Nacala and the Cashew Training Center in Itoculo. Besides the Farmers Club activities, the project has 3 other main activities. A 100 ha cashew plantation run commercially and connected to this an outreach program concerning cachew processing, a training center for small scale farmers working with cashew to train them to improve their yields and income from cachew and a Child Aid program in Itoculo.
The center also have several other activities in the communities working with clean water and sanitation. The Cashew Training Center in Itoculo project started in 1996.

* TCE - TOTAL CONTROL OF THE EPIDEMIC
Only people can liberate themselves from AIDS - the epidemic. Everybody else can only participate. On this simple line HUMANA People to People has developed a people'liberation system to be put in place in most parts of Southern Africa in order to gain - area by area - total control of the epidemic.
The system builds on a group of 50 locals employed for the three years it takes to liberate an area of 100.000 people. The first TCE Area was started in Maputo province in year 2000 and ended in 2003. Since then, TCE Nampula has started and finalized one area and TCE Sofala five areas. TCE Sofala started 50 Soya restaurants and a Direct Feeding program with Soya for 2.900 families which continue to run.
In 2007, TCE expanded with one new area in each of the provinces of Maputo, Sofala, Zambezia, Nampula and Cabo Delgado and with eight areas in Manica - in
total TCE Mozambique now operates 13 areas. TCE is also doing field tests in both Manica and Nacala.

* ADPP CLOTHES SALES IN MOZAMBIQUE
The objectives of ADPP Clothes Sales are:
* To generate surplus from the sale of second hand clothes to contribute considerable to financing of ADPP'Development projects in Mozambique.
* To supply clothes to every corner of Mozambique and satisfy the basic needs of the majority of the Mozambican population in terms of clothing.
* To generate good, permanent jobs as well as providing income possibilities to small dealers/traders, who can make a living from buying and selling second hand
Clothes. ADPP'involvement with second hand clothes began in 1984 with the distribution of emergency aid to war affected people.
The sales of second hand clothes began in 1988 with the establishment of the first
sorting center in Maputo. The first sales post was opened in Nacala in 1990 and the first sales project in Beira started in 1991. The Clothes Sales now has sales projects or sales posts in all ten provinces in the country.
The Clothes Sale also started up shops in Beira, Nampula and Maputo and now has 8 shops and a plan to start more. An estimated 4.500.000 people all over Mozambique will buy and benefit from the good quality and affordable clothes and shoes from ADPP.

* THE DEVELOPMENT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM
The idea of the Development Instructor Program is to make it possible for people to take part in creating development through one of the projects in HUMANA
PEOPLE TO PEOPLE. The development instructors are trained and expected to contribute with all their skills, experiences and dedication to move the work
forward, shoulder to shoulder with the other people at the project. Development Instructors typically have responsibilities to both develop new activities and to
secure the daily running of parts of the program.
They receive economic support for their training and travel, and pay for the rest through savings and fund raising. Their living expenses at the project are covered
by ADPP Mozambique. ADPP Mozambique receives approximately 100 Development Instructors every year.

* THE SCOLARSHIP PROGRAM
ADPP Mozambique has its own scholarship program with up to 50 students per year from Mozambique going for training at the Frontline Institute in Zimbabwe.
Here they are part of a training program that qualify them for management posts within the organization and where they also learn a lot about outreach and
community work. Apart from this program ADPP Mozambique also offers scholarships to children of key staff members at a boarding school that offers up to
10th grade. ADPP sends approximately 50 students for this scholarship program in Zimbabwe every year.

About Mozambique:

The economic performance of Mozambique has been across the board in industry and fisheries, construction and services accounting for 17.9 %, 11.3 % and 33 % respectively to the Gross Domestic Product. Agriculture accounts for approximately 27 % of GDP and engages 70 % of the population. Despite all these great strides Mozambique remains one of the world’s poorest countries. The UN Millennium report (2003) states that 70 % of the population in Mozambique live below the poverty line.

Mozambique is vulnerable to climatic change. The country’s development is severely affected by natural weather phenomenon like drought, cyclones and floods.

Mozambique achieved independence in 1975 after almost 5 centuries under the Portuguese colonial rule.

ADPP in Mozambique run 40 development projects. The activities started in 1982. The project range from fund-raising, teacher training, child aid, street children schools, and farmers training to fighting HIV/AIDS.
